The Elektron B1 Neo is a single bayonet tool holder cutting head which can be fitted to almost any Aeronaut gantry. Bayonet tool holders can be fitted with all Aeronaut's bayonet tools from unpowered rotary blades to powered tools such as ultrasonic, recipro and plunge knife. Since the tool change takes just a few seconds, with this cutter you can have it all.
If you mainly one tool or just one powered tool per job then the Elektron B1 Neo is the perfect solution.
With drop-in quick change tooling, the Elektron B1 Neo can take almost any type of cutting tool you're likely to need. If you don't need lots of tool holders and don't want the added expense of a multi-tool cutter, then this versatile machine fits the picture.
Since bayonet tools are loaded from above and locked with a quarter turn ring, tools can be a lot longer than those on a Cam-lock tool cutter and various types of powered tools can be fitted as well as the normal unpowered cutting tools like rotary (pizza) blade holders (18mm, 28mm, 45mm), drag blades and creasing tools.
The bayonet tool holder can take drop-in reciprocating knives, both electric and pneumatic as well as ultrasonic tools, powered rotary blade cutters and plunge cut tools.
Because there's some space on the cutting head, the Elektron B1 Neo is ideal for configuring as a special machine for specific tasks as well as mainstream cutting jobs.
Bayonet quick-change tooling system
Bayonet mounted tools lock in just like the lens on an SLR camera in few seconds.
Powered Cutting Tools.
Electrice reciprocating knives, pneumatic reciprocating knives ultrasonic tools, powered rotary blade cutters and plunge cut tools.
Unpowered Tools
Rotary (pizza) blade holders (19mm, 28mm, 45mm), drag blades, creasing and crush cut tools.
Swap between blades, drill punches, and other tools in seconds for maximum safety and efficiency.
Concentric Pen Adaptor for Accurate Marking
Compatible with a wide range of markers (ballpoints, paint markers, etc.), enabling easy marker type changes without affecting seam allowances.
Optional Higher Pressure Tool Axes
For applications requiring extreme pressure, such as cutting and creasing thicker materials, the tool axis can be made higher pressure. As with most Aeronaut cutters, tool pressure is software controlled.
Accessories
Other equipment such as drill punches, inkjet print heads, machine vision cameras and extra pens can be fitted to the head.
The Future-proof Solution
The Elektron B1 is a single tool holder cutter but it will take all the tools you think you need… and the others too.
Long Service Life
Engineered without compromise, the bayonet tool holder has been made for almost three decades without any significant change.
Very low maintenance
The Elektron Quattro is designed for low maintenance. The drive system is belt driven with no hard-to-replace and rapidly-wearing gears to worry about.
Thick and Thin Materials
Rotary blade tools are remarkably versatile but there are some materials, especially tough and thick materials and some types of work where more grunt is needed. Reciprocating blade tools can cut over 12mm (1/2") and thicker depending on the tool.
If you are cutting materials like thick leather for belts and tool holsters, a standard reciprocating blade cutter will do the work with speed and accuracy.
Ultrasonic and Beyond
Many window furnishing fabrics need an edge seal and ultrasonic tools are the industry standard. If you don't need creasing then the Elektron B1 is an economical option. Of course a crush-cut tool can be fitted in place of the ultrasonic tool.
Bayonet tools drop in from above the holder and are locked in alignment with a 1/4 turn bayonet ring. Tool changes take just a few seconds which is perfect for blade replacements.
The bayonet tool range includes both pneumatic and electric powered reciprocating blade tools, ultrasonic tools for cut and sea, powered rotary blade tools and plunge knife tools.
Almost any unpowered tool be bayonet mounted including 18mm, 28mm and 45mm rotary blades, tangential or drag knives with various depth stops for normal and high friction materials, creasing and scoring tools in a wide range of profiles.
The Elektron B1 may be a single tool holder cutter but since tool changes are quick and easy, you can change tools mid-job without a problem. The Tangent cutter control software takes care of things like cut and crease pressure and critical blade alignment.
If you only need one tool per job, the advantages of a bayonet mount are the ease of blade changing without fiddling around under the cutting head with sharps.
If you need a dedicated ultrasonic or crush cut and seal machine, then the Elektron B1 is a good choice, with a price advantage over the two tool Elektron B1.
Many materials which don't need a sealed edge can also be cut using these tools.
The Elektron B1 is well suited to work like miner's, lifting and tool belts made from 3-5mm hide. Given the small table size, leather can be cut with a soft overlay while a rotary blade cuter can be used directly on the plastic vacuum table cutting surface. This offers a versatile cutter at a reasonable price.
PVC & Hypalon products can require a few tools to get the best results for easy fabrication starting with an accurate marker to do seam lines, pattern numbers and details. The Elektron B1 is used by RIB manufacturers for production work and the occasional corrugated package.
Because a bayonet tool holder can take the widest range of tools, it's found a place in many general PVC and canvas fabricator's workshops. Changing the cutting tool or putting a soft overlay on the cutting table will give you a cutter which can handle almost any job you put it to.
Most of the benefits of automation are obvious, others less so.
